Cheap hotels near Train Station Santa Maria Novella in Florence, Italy

Located across the street from the Basilica Santa Maria Novella, the Santa Maria Novella train station serves as Florence’s main rail terminal. It's situated slightly to the northwest of the city center.

The current station opened in 1934 and today has 19 platforms. The station serves destinations abroad and throughout Italy, and offers many daily journeys to and from Rome’s Termini Station. For tickets and timetables, check out Trenitalia's Web site.

Compared to other structures in Florence, where Medieval and Renaissance architecture reign supreme, this modern building isn’t much to gaze at, but if you need to catch a train, it sure looks mighty fine!

Hotels near Santa Maria train station: Especially if you have an early morning train or are just arriving to the city, you’ll want to stick close by.
