Lancaster Hall Hotel

The Lancaster Hall Hotel is located one block from Kensington Gardens. The hotel provides three-star rooms for business and leisure guests while hostel rooms fill mostly with student groups.

The 80 rooms in the Lancaster Hall’s hotel section are basic and clean, with recently updated furnishings and decor. All are outfitted with twin beds, coffee and tea facilities, a TV and phone.

The hostel rooms, located in a wing called the Kensington Gardens Hostel, range from doubles to quads. These rooms feel less like a youth hostel and more like a tidy budget hotel. In fact, the only thing that makes them "hostel" rooms at all is the fact that they lack the hotel room amenities and share facilities in the hall. And, despite their designation as the Lancaster Hall’s “youth wing,” hostel rooms are suitable for guests of any age (and much cheaper!).

Rooms in the hotel portion of the Lancaster Hall Hotel have private baths which are quite clean and equipped with tubs. Each hostel room is outfitted with a sink, and shared facilities are simple yet clean. Towels and soap are provided, but be sure to bring your other toiletries.

The Lancaster Hall was constructed in 1973, and it has the brutal concrete façade to prove it. Upstairs, hallways are lined with wooden paneling and bright lighting, reminiscent of a '70s office building. 

Breakfast, included in the room rate for hotel guests or available as an extra fee for hostel guests, is served in the hotel’s laid-back restaurant/lounge area.
