Cheap hotels near Globe Theatre in London, United Kingdom
A reconstruction of Shakespeare’s famous theatre, the Globe operates as a working theater, while paying tribute to the life of the legendary playwright. Opened in 1997, the new Globe is based on historical documents concerning both the original, built in 1599 and later destroyed by fire, and its 1614 successor, which was demolished in 1644.
Tickets to tour the Globe cost about £13, depending upon the season. During afternoon performances, the Globe may be closed to tours, although visitors can check out the Rose Theatre, the only Elizabethan theatre excavated on a large scale.
For more information, including prices, times and tour details, check the Globe’s Web site.
