Cheap hotels near Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy
One of the most visited sights in all of Rome, the Sistine Chapel is the papal chapel in the Vatican City. It’s best known for hosting the papal conclave, or the elections of new popes.
Inside the chapel, visitors can view jaw-dropping frescoes by Boticelli and, of course, Michelangelo, which were painted between 1508-1512. “The Creation of Adam,” by Michelangelo, is part of the chapel's painted ceiling.
To visit the Sistine Chapel, you’ll have to first buy a joint ticket that includes admission to the Vatican Museums. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit the Vatican’s Web site.
