Cheap hotels near Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy
Located along the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection’s modern white facade might be overlooked in many other cities. In highly preserved Venice, however, the museum’s architecture is an anomaly. The art within? It’s on scale with Venice’s other treasured gems.
The museum is devoted to modern art and offers some of the finest examples of Cubism, Abstract Expressionism and Surrealism in the world, much of it collected by Peggy Guggenheim (1898-1979). Think Miro, Rothko, Dali and Picasso.
The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information on current exhibits and admission, visit the Guggenheim’s site.
