Cheap hotels near University Ca' Foscari in Venice, Italy
Established in 1868 as a business school, Venice’s Ca’ Foscari University was the first of its kind in Italy and the second in Europe. Today, it’s a well-known public university offering a range of degrees. The school is situated in the center of the Dorsoduro neighborhood.
The main seat of the university is the Ca’ Foscari palace, a Gothic structure purchased by Doge Foscari in the 1400’s. A tour of the palace today includes a look at frescoes, stucco work, impressive murals and the great lecture hall which was designed by architect Carlo Scarpa.
