If you're looking for fresh air and greenery and aren't in the mode to hike it to Hyde Park, swing by Russell Square. Located near the University of London and British Museum, this square offers lovely gardens, places to sit and relax, a gorgeous fountain.
The square was formed when the Duke of Bedford (surname Russell) laid out plans for streets on the site of his former estate, Bedford House.
While in the area, check out the architectural terracotta on the Hotel Russell adjacent to the square. If you venture into the hotel, the dining room is said to be almost identical to the dining room on the Titanic.
