Original Review:

A boutique hotel just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, the Hotel Eiffel Turenne offers renovated boutique rooms with perks like air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Depending on when you book, you can find reasonable rates, but it may be a bit too fancy for some Cheapos.

The three-star Hotel Eiffel Turenne (formerly called Hotel de Turenne) is another example of the recent trend of budget-friendly hotels going boutique in Paris. For years, it was one of our go-to Eiffel Tower picks.

Recently, a new management team redid the joint with stylish carpets, beds, furnishing, and sparkling bathrooms. The look got an overhaul, too, with the “simple Formica furnishings” of yore giving way to slick modern pieces, snazzy striped wallpaper, framed prints, and chic what-nots. Don't get us wrong—it's fabulous. It's just much more expensive now, too.

All 34 rooms are equipped with flat-screen TV, telephone, safe and air conditioning. Free Wi-Fi works throughout the hotel.

As is always the case in this situation, the rates spiked with the renovations. Rooms that were €82 are now about €282. However, in doing several searches, we were able to find some lower rates available at the last minute and in the offseason. This is worth exploring if the price is right.

A continental breakfast is served for an additional fee. The Metro station École Militaire is a two-minute walk from the front door.
