Located in Times Square and just around the corner from the Broadway theaters, the three-star Gallivant has a fun, modern feel.

The Gallivant's 334 recently renovated rooms have a classic feel. They are elegant in neutrals with pops of color, like vibrant throw pillows or patterned rugs. Most offer oversized bathrooms and sleeper sofas, which make them a good value for groups and families.

Location

The Gallivant Hotel shares a block with two Broadway theaters and provides easy access to all the others. It sits between perpetual madness (Times Square, just to the south) and tranquil escape (Central Park, just 10 blocks north).

From this central perch, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall and the Museum of Modern Art are within easy walking distance, as are the shops of Fifth Avenue stores and the ethnic restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen. And plenty of nearby subway lines can transport you farther afield.

Transportation

Subways: Three subway stations are within a close radius of the hotel. The C/E trains pick up at 8th Avenue at 50th Street, while the 1 train stops at Broadway and 50th Street. It’s also a short walk across 48th Street to the N/Q/R trains at 49th Street and 7th Avenue.

JFK: To reach the Best Wester Plus President from JFK, take the Air Train to Howard Beach Station, then the A express train to 42nd Street-Port Authority. Transfer to the local C or E train (across the platform) and take this one stop to 50th Street, just two blocks north of the hotel.

LaGuardia: We recommend taking an airport bus service to Penn Station, where you can catch an uptown C or E train to 50th Street.

Newark: Take the Air Train to the NJ Transit station, and then any NJ Transit train into New York Penn Station. Transfer to an uptown C or E subway train to 50th Street.
