Cheap hotels near United Nations in New York, United States
Located along the East River in Manhattan's East Side, the United Nations buildings have served as the official headquarters for UN activities since 1952.
The other three seats of the United Nations are located in Geneva, Vienna and Nairobi. However, the New York location is the only UN complex where both the UN General Assembly and Security Council meet.
The land upon which the complex was built is considered international territory and is owned by the United Nations. The complex was constructed between 1949-1950, with land and money donated by John. D. Rockefeller, Jr.
For more information on visiting the United Nations Headquarters, visit the UN’s Web site.
