Cheap hotels near Columbus Circle in New York, United States
Situated on the southwest corner of Central Park at 59th Street, Columbus Circle is a prominent landmark and city roundabout. The circle is marked by an impressive statue of Christopher Columbus, erected in 1892 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Columbus landing in the Americas.
The Time Warner Center is located on the circle’s west side. Although primarily an office tower, residences and a hotel, the "Shops at Columbus Circle" offers boutiques, galleries and restaurants, along with a Whole Foods supermarket downstairs (perfect for an afternoon coffee or healthy lunch). It’s also an outpost for Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Columbus Circle also serves as a major entrance to Central Park and is a very busy New York City subway station serving several lines.
