Hotel Museumzicht ("Museum Sight") is an appropriate name for this quiet and studious hotel, which boasts gorgeous views of the city's museums from many of its bedroom windows and from the beautiful breakfast room as well.
Rooms are a bit small but clean and cheerfully decorated with furniture that ranges from gorgeous art deco to cool flea-market find. Art hangs in all the rooms, and those on the top floor (without private facilities) offer incredible views.
Of course, a lovely historic building like this has its disadvantages, such as steep old staircases, toilets in the corridors, and ghosts of tenants past. But we waved these aside and embraced the Museumzicht for all other the charms it has to offer.
