Blue1 is definitely #1 for travel to Finland's north. No other budget airline flies to destinations beyond Helsinki and Tampere.

Network stretches across Finland. Young, helpful and energetic flight crew. Newer aircraft in fleet. Great service.

Downside

Access to most destinations in Finland requires connecting flights and some destinations are seasonal.

Kittila Airport is a very small commercial airport located within the Arctic Circle. It serves as the main airport in northern Finland. Location: Kittila Airport is located 5 km outside Kittila. Transport: - Bus: Twice a day, there is regular bus service to the town of Kilpisjarvi. Information regarding bus timetables and rates can be found on the company's Official Website. There is also bus service to the towns of Muonio, Olos, Jeris, and Pallas Kultiman Liikenne which operates according to Finnair flight schedules. It is important to note that all transports to and from the airport must be booked at least one day in advance.
