About
In June of 2003, six airline pros joined forces with Jozsef Varadi (the current CEO of WizzAir) to start WizzAir; within three months, WizzAir was ready for takeoff.

Polish-Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has joined the big leagues. With an impressive destination tally and a whopping 10 UK airports served, Wizz is one of Europe's first tier of budget airlines. On a fare by fare basis, Wizz offers among the very cheapest airfares in Europe.

Wizz Air's route map ranges across western and central Europe, and its routes are mostly set up on an east-west axis, not a north-south one.

Baggage
* Carry-on: One item up to 10 kg and one personal item.
* Checked: Up to 20 kg of luggage and each piece of luggage is charged at the rate of €7.5. Over this limit, you will be charged €10 per kg. If you check luggage after booking you will be charged €15 for each piece.

Seating
Wizz operates on the first-come first-serve basis at check-in. Seats with extra legroom are €5 in advance or at the airport for €10.

Tip
Opt for "pre-boarding", when you book on-line or via the call center, by paying a nominal fee (ranging from €2.5 to €5). In this case, you’ll be called to board before other passengers. Wizz-bang!

Departure: Varna, Bulgaria - Varna International (VAR)

Varna International Airport serves the coastal city of Varna, which is known as Bulgaria's most important port city.

Location: Varna International Airport is located 7.5 km (5 miles) west of Varna.

Transport:

- Bus: Be aware that the bus station in front of the Terminal 1 "Departures" area is the drop of point for buses coming from the city only. In order to catch a bus into the city or to the seaside resorts, travelers must go to the stop located in front of the VIP hall. All buses operate every 15 minutes.

- Taxi: The main taxi rank is located in front of Terminal 1 "International Arrivals." It is highly recommended that travelers pay close attention to the price as quoted per kilometer. The journey takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic.

Service: At Varna Airport
travelers can the building’s four coffee bars (Good morning Varna!). There are a couple of duty free shops located in Terminal 3 and Terminal 4. The airport also contains a currency exchange and has ample security.

Arrival: Sofia, Bulgaria - Sofia (Vrazhdebna) Airport (SOF)

Sofia Airport, also known as Vrazhdebna (after the village located to the north), is the main airport serving Sofia, Bulgaria.

Location: Sofia Airport is located 10 km (6 miles) east of Sofia.

Transport:

- Rail: There are many bus and taxi connections from the Sofia Airport to the Central Railway Station.

- Bus: Regular bus service is available to and from the airport and Sofia's city center.

- Taxi: Taxi cabs are available outside the main airport building.

Service: Airport amenities include free Wi-Fi Internet access, numerous restaurants, cafes and shops as well as a lost and found facility.
