Cyprus Turkish Airlines

About this airline

Upside
Provides easy access to Northern Cyprus.

Downside
In line with international regulations, your journey will involve a layover in Turkey. Disgruntled and rude cabin crew. Older planes (upside: usually means more legroom).

About
Cyprus Turkish Airlines was established in 1974 as a joint Cypriot-Turkish venture. Cyprus Turkish Airlines is a smallish airline with a limited route map. It's particularly good for flying between Northern Cyprus and Turkey, though flights between the UK (five airports) and Germany (one airport) and Northern Cyprus (with a layover in Turkey) are also on offer.

Fares are only low-cost on occasion, though fare sales happen enough to warrant inclusion in our survey here.

Baggage

* Checked: For flights to Turkey, you are allowed up to 20 kg of luggage. For flights to Europe; the limit is 25 kg. If you go over the limit, you will be charged between €1-2 per kg.
