The San Marco's amenities list is substantial, and the location, though off the beaten path, is convenient. The National Museum is less than a five-minute walk north.
The 19 rooms are huge by budget-hotel, or for that matter, any hotel standards. A few of the bathrooms are as large as some of the double rooms we saw closer to Old Town Square. Plus, the San Marco has an elevator—a happy surprise given the building.
As for the rooms, we have one question: Do you like satin? You'd better because all the San Marco, including the furniture and beds, are covered in it! Some bedspreads are mint, others are gold, but all are most definitely satin.
Be sure to check out the garden in back. It's a nice spot to sit under a tree and escape the city bustle right outside the front doors.

About the San Marco Palace neighborhood
Nove Mesto means "new town" in Czech. Prague's business district surrounds Stare Mesto on its eastern and southern borders. The area has plenty of sightseeing draws. Home to the famed Wenceslas Square as well as the National Museum, the neighborhood is less than 20 minutes from Old Town Square by subway or tram.
