Cheap hotels near Vysehrad in Prague, Czech Republic
Prague’s second castle, the oft-overlooked Vysehrad is a treasure trove of history. Though not as well preserved as the Prague Castle, some structures remain from the original Medieval fort, including the 11th-century Rotunda of St. Martin—Prague’s oldest surviving building.
One of the main attractions in the complex is the Vysehrad cemetery, which serves as the final resting place for many famous Czechs. Among the buried here are artist Alphonse Mucha, composer Antonin Dvorak and writer Karel Capek. The cemetery also serves as a quiet, peaceful respite from the bustling city.
Cheap hotels near Vysehrad: Southwest of Nove Mesto and nestled against the Vltava, Vyshehrad is a bit out of the way. There are some nice hotel deals to be found nearby, though. The Admiral Botel, docked across the river in Smichov, offers a memorable, floating experience of Prague. For a more traditional accommodation option, though a quirky pick nonetheless, try the Dahlia Inn in New Town.
Address Salmovska 14 (Nove Mesto)
OK, not everyone is into modern baroque decor, but we're sure most Cheapos will be fans of the extravagant amenities at the Hotel Dante Alighieri. Plus, the staff is enthusiastic, and the prices are right.
