Here goes: On a beautiful street near the Cafe Vertigo at Vondelpark, look forward to meeting Anand, who will draw open the thick wooden door and greet you at the foot of the red carpeted staircase. Here and there stained glass windows color the light. There's a beautiful oak bar and gorgeous furniture surrounding it.
Then the scene cuts dramatically, and we move to the 15 rooms. Style suddenly disappears. Crown molding, high ceilings, and antique window frames offer a smattering of architectural beauty. However, the decorative reality is otherwise grim. Rooms have a television, a bathroom, and not much else. A few rooms have a wardrobe.
In its defense, the beds are decent. Furthermore, the Sipermann is on a really gorgeous street, and Vondelpark is just around the corner. The gorgeous scenery outside the rooms makes it hard for the EuroCheapo team to pass up Anand's budget building. And the bar on the first floor really is exquisite. What more can you ask for at these prices?
