Be warned: this place ain't exactly cheap. However, the Abbey's location and quaint ambiance make it worth reaching into the upper limits of the budget rate bracket.
The entrance to the charming Abbey Hotel is somewhat obscured by the crowd of tables outside Mojo's, the hotel's sleek bar. However, despite all the activity, the Abbey Hotel has a quite feel with soundproofed windows ensuring a peaceful stay. And as the hotel is on a pedestrian street north of the Liffey, you won't be hearing the rumblings of traffic outdoors.
The Abbey's building is hundreds of years old. The Abbey, however, is only eight years old. Its 21 rooms are bright, with yellow walls and plaid fabrics covering the beds and chairs. All are en suite and come with toiletries, a hair dryer, and trouser press. Whimsical drawings, set off by polished metal frames, add to the cheerful atmosphere.
In addition to Mojo's, the Abbey has a more traditional Irish bar inside with a fireplace and dark wood furniture. Both serve food daily from noon until 9 p.m.
