The Hotel Mimosa is situated on the second floor of an elevator-less apartment building. This old-fashioned pension offers 11 no-frills rooms at low prices and a location that's hard to beat—one block south of the Pantheon. It doesn't try to be anything other than what it is: clean, cheap, and convenient.
Rooms, which come in all shapes and sizes, line a hallway that shoots off the fluorescent-lit lobby. The building is old, rooms have not been renovated, and the décor is downright boring. However, the ceilings are high, and some windows are gigantic. Furniture varies from flea-market to boring basics. Beds have simple red bedspreads. Floors are white linoleum. All rooms have air-conditioning, and the pension is entirely non-smoking.
Guests don't come for the décor or service. They come for location and price. And the fact that nearly half the Mimosa's rooms still share facilities keeps the prices low.
Note: Read the small print about the Mimosa's cancellation policy before you book. If you cut your stay short, you may end up footing the bill for the remaining nights.
