The three-star Hotel Fortuna Bis is a good, even pretty, tourist-class hotel option in a central location.
The hotel’s 23 rooms are extremely green, with various hues alternating on walls, carpets and upholstered chairs. Duvet covers and curtains match, but overall the effect is still slightly busy. Furniture is more lightweight contemporary than antique reproduction. All rooms are equipped with a telephone, satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are unremarkably fine. Room verdict: Midrange standard achieved; design points withheld.
The Fortuna Bis has a number of features that set it apart from other midrange hotels. There's a restaurant on the premises, for example, as well as a meeting room. The best way to enter is from the lovely courtyard. Room balconies are overflowing with flowers in summer. Make sure to request a room with a courtyard-facing balcony to up the charm factor.
The Hotel Fortuna Bis is one of two hotels in Krakow's Fortuna mini-chain. The other, Hotel Fortuna, is located close-by, just a few minutes away by foot. The two hotels share many of the same aesthetic characteristics.

About the Hotel Fortuna Bis neighborhood
Krakow's more modern face can be seen in the districts west of Stare Miasto. The neighborhood is far younger than Stare Miasto or Kazimierz. What's more, construction sites make it clear that this area of the city is continue to transform. Bustling ul. Karmelicka is a lively artery, with an array of retail on offer. The district is well situated near the action, though is likely not where visitors will want to spend most of their time in Krakow.
