The three-star Hotel Fortuna is a fine tourist-class hotel in a charming Central European idiom. Located in a sleepy corner of Krakow west of Stare Miasto, it's a good place for older visitors.
The hotel’s 25 rooms sport a preponderance of green in multiple hues. Blankets provide a metallic, satiny counterpoint. Furniture is rich and dark, without flourish. All rooms are equipped with a telephone, free Wi-Fi and satellite television. Bathrooms were last renovated in the mid-1990s, and look the part.
The Hotel Fortuna and the nearby Hotel Fortuna Bis comprise the very small two-property Fortuna hotel chain. Both hotels sport entryways spilling over with flowers in summertime. However, the Hotel Fortuna is the marginally nicer of the two, occupying a grand 19th-century building.
Breakfast is included. Note that rooms are not air-conditioned.

About the Hotel Fortuna neighborhood
Krakow's more modern face can be seen in the districts west of Stare Miasto. The neighborhood is far younger than Stare Miasto or Kazimierz. What's more, construction sites make it clear that this area of the city is continue to transform. Bustling ul. Karmelicka is a lively artery, with an array of retail on offer. The district is well situated near the action, though is likely not where visitors will want to spend most of their time in Krakow.
