Kadetus Hotel is yet another of Krakow's many friendly, slightly down-at-heel hostels. The nine-room Kadetus is located close to the action in a modern, bustling area of Krakow, west of Stare Miasto.
Rooms are extremely basic, dorm-style affairs with bunk beds. They come in several configurations: doubles, one triple, one quad, and one five-bed dorm. Bright yellow walls and coordinated Venetian blinds keep things cheery. Hardwood floors are nice as well. All rooms share bathroom facilities, which are smartly tiled. Sheets and towels are included in the nightly rate.
The best features at Kadetus are not the rooms, but the uncommonly friendly staff and the fun communal atmosphere. It definitely has a backpackers-of-the-world-unite feel to it. The guest kitchen is cozy. When we visited, two young'uns from Melbourne were hunched over a laptop at the large kitchen table, taking advantage of Kadetus' free Wi-Fi.
Note that there is no television on the premises, and that there's a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood. Those who like to sleep in might want to choose another hostel.
