Nothing is better than a brand new, freshly painted hostel. At the Journey's King Cross, the lockers shine, the walls glow and the DVD collection hasn't been totally ransacked. Of course, you'd better like purple and orange, because just about everything throughout the hostel, from bedroom walls to awnings, is accented in this color combination.
The Journey's 88 beds have clean sheets and sterling metal frames. In addition to the dormitory rooms, the hostel offers a few double rooms, so ask ahead.
The smoker's patio has a sunroof and sits right off the television lounge, which boasts a cozy couch and Internet station. We dug Journey's chill-out room - a fun mix of bean bags and red walls with a stereo.
This youth hostel is surrounded by new Internet cafes, coffee shops, and African restaurants—standing in contrast to the strip clubs and gaming centers that formerly populated the area.
