The independently owned Mayflower Hotel is easily the classiest place we visited in Earls Court. Sure, it's a bit pricier than other places we recommend in the area. But excellent attention to detail, an extraordinarily professional staff, and tasteful East-meets-West decor make it a worthwhile visit -- particularly if you're looking for a romantic getaway. And we're not the only ones who think so: the Mayflower Hotel has been hailed in "The Sunday Times."
The Mayflower's welcoming lounge is fitted with marble floors, comfy leather couches, a self-service coffee bar, and a well-spoken pet parrot. Rooms, all en suite and spotlessly clean, have incredibly soft mattresses, attractive ceiling fans, and quality linens. These come in three classes: Standard, Executive, and Luxury. An Eastern edge permeates the ambiance: carved Buddha's, Indian throw pillows, wood varnish bed frames with henna-like designs. And in addition to the hotel's aesthetic bliss, the streets surrounding the Mayflower are quiet, making for a peaceful visit.
In addition, the Mayflower rents out 30 apartments. More spacious than the rooms, these come as studios or one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. All have kitchens and the same rich decor.
