Located next to the Cirque d’Hiver and the famous Clown Bar in the up-and-coming and terribly hip Republique, the Hôtel Beaumarchais is fantastically dressed to the nines in jazzy art and eye-popping hues. If fun and funky is your deal, step right up to this over the (big) top artsy hotel!

The hotel’s 31 rooms, reminded us of the good old kindergarten days with their bright art and mod, curvaceous furniture in shiny red, fuchsia, green and yellow. They have triple-paned windows for soundproofing and are equipped with air conditioning, a telephone and TV.

Bathrooms are outfitted with either showers and whimsically tiled in mosaics. Bathtubs are available (request ahead).

We fell under the hotel’s contagious make-believe spell immediately, and soon found ourselves humming “It’s Only a Paper Moon.” It’s imaginatively decorated and wildly painted from top to bottom in vibrant blues, reds, yellows and greens. Edgy, conversation-starting exhibitions hang in the breakfast room and lounge (we think P.T. Barnum might have felt very much at home here).

The generous public space offers free Wi-Fi and comfy leather club chairs that are great for people-watching. Breakfast is offered for €10.
