The family-run and friendly Hotel and Hostel Des Artistes is a hybrid choice for those who cannot make up their minds, offering both three-star rooms and dorm beds.

Rooms in the hotel part are draped in rich red and blue fabrics. While the gilt-framed paintings are not original works, they still give the rooms an elegant feel. All “hotel” rooms feature private bathrooms, though you can also find “hostel” rooms that are indistinguishable from the hotel rooms except that they share a bathroom.

The hostel section boasts a young vibe. Dorm rooms are decorated in a simpler style, with plain white walls and single beds. The communal shower room has plenty of stalls and is very clean and shiny. The common area offers settees, lockers, a fridge, TV and vending machines.

A self-serve breakfast is included, and guests can eat indoors or on the pretty roof terrace (complete with plants, flowers and a nice view of a side street). The staff at the Hotel and Hostel Des Artistes is friendly and helpful.

The hotel is literally a minute from Metro Linea B, a short walk from Termini Station and well-connected to the main bus routes. It is about a 20-minute walk to the historic center.
