The Pensione Jonella is located on the top floor of a 200-year-old building with no elevator. But this dreamy spot sits on a delicious, cobblestone corner near the Piazza di Spagna and makes for an all-out steal.
You'll have to drag your bags up four flights of scenic (and super steep) stairs. But we have to say, it's well worth the schlep.
The four-room Jonella is pure pension, with one bathroom, one shower room, and quite minimal facilities. But rooms are spacious, airy, and entirely outfitted in antiques. The bathrooms are simple. Views are of the street or the charming courtyard.
Rooms are cleaned daily by a friendly staff you'll hardly ever see. Guests receive a discount at the bar downstairs, a great place to sip on creamy cappuccino, and people-watch.
The same owners operate the nearby Bed and Breakfast De Cappuccini on Via dei Cappuccini 30.
