The family-run Pension Alc&aactue;zar offers seven simple yet charming rooms in a super-central four-story house near its grandiose namesake.
Guestrooms have tiled floors and modest furnishings: a nightstand, writing desk and a bed or two. Amenities are likewise minimal here, but air conditioning and free Wi-Fi are available in all rooms. Full-length windows open onto a quiet square and let in plenty of sunshine. Some rooms have small balconies, and one has a private terrace with a wrought iron patio table and view of the cathedral.
Bathrooms are outfitted with a shower, sink and toilet. Although all are private, some bathrooms are located outside the guestrooms.
The tiny pension does not serve breakfast, but its friendly staff is happy to recommend nearby cafés. Note that smoking is allowed in some rooms and that the hotel does not have an elevator (and the stairs are steep). Also, the hotel is cash only (although you’ll have to put down a credit card to reserve the room).

About the Pension Alcázar neighborhood
With its warrens of tiny streets and alleys and stunning plazas, Santa Cruz is the Seville of your deepest Andalusian fantasies. In the summer, homeowners compete to see who can create the most beautiful flowerboxes. This is, however, tourist central, so expect company while you're getting lost in Sevillian dreams and tasty (and pricey) tapas.
