This pension, owned and operated by the Gebrael family, is a one-star property in a four-star location.
Just a block off the Mariahilferstrasse, one of Vienna's main drags for shopping, Lindenhof is surrounded shops and restaurants. The Innere Stadt, the Opera, and the Volkstheater are about 10 to 15 minutes walking distance. The one-star rating translates into austerity, though the friendly staff and clean accommodations make the Lindenhof a bargain nonetheless.
Rooms are quite plain—what you'd expect at this nightly rate—and amenities are pretty much limited to the bed and sheets. There's no television, no Internet, and no telephone. It's just a step above a hostel. Some rooms have shared bathrooms and showers, but don't worry, they're quite clean. En suite bathrooms aren't especially large, and if you're using the shared shower, it'll cost you an additional €2.
We especially like the front hallway, lined with plants that spill out onto a balcony, which, like 14 of the 19 rooms on hand, overlook the Lindenhof's back garden.
