Offering 81 rooms with predictable three-star amenities and services, the Grand City Hotel Berlin is a good choice for those looking to stay just off the K'damm. The Grand City is big and polished, with a friendly, attentive staff and surprise-free rooms.
Bedrooms are relatively spacious and comfortable, with big bright windows, typical beds and desks, and all manner of extra amenities, such as minibars, pay-movies, and Internet plugs (although no air conditioning is available). Baths are quite clean and nicely tiled. And the hotel offers two nonsmoking floors and a sunny yellow breakfast room that opens to the hotel's terrace, which used to be a pool. (Now, couldn't they have left that alone?).

Wilmersdorf is south of Charlottenburg. Though quite central, it's not exactly a booming hood. Pockets of a lively café culture can be found in Wilmersdorf, but for the most part this is a quiet area. Wilmersdorf is a great neighborhood for those who seek a central location and wish not to run the risk of stumbling across noisy nighttime revelers.
