The old-fashioned Hotel-Pension Pariser Eck provides unpretentious rooms at low prices on Pariserstrasse near the Ku'damm.
The pension is a simple place, where furniture is decidedly dated, and just might qualify as retro. Check out our photo: The old stucco ceilings are high, and the bed, sofa, and coffee table date back to the 1950s and 1960s. You're either unfazed by this, cautious of it, or crave it. One drawback: rooms with private showers often have them placed in the corner of the bedroom.
The Pariser Eck is an easy-going kind of place. "We're gay-friendly, kid-friendly, and all around friendly," the owner, Eduardo Avila, explained. And we knew we had a friend.
