The one-star Hotel Cristina offers hotel-style rooms—at hostel-style rates—in a convenient location bretween the Uffizi and Duomo.

A steep set of stairs leads to the Hotel Cristina’s nine simple and spacious rooms. Furnishings mostly consist of antiques, though we noticed a few modern pieces thrown in. Some rooms have distinct Renaissance style—we even saw some showers with frescoes!—while others seem randomly assembled. All rooms have a mini-fridge and fan and some have TV (ask ahead).

The bathrooms, some private and some shared, are clean but basic, with Italian-style showers, sans water barrier. Some bathrooms have vaulted ceilings.

Under new management since our last visit, the Cristina has a young, hostel-esque vibe, but maintains hotel-style services and décor. Common areas include a television lounge and free Internet stations. The real selling point, though, is a (free!) guest washing machine and clothesline.

Breakfast is available for an additional fee. In addition to the Internet stations in the lounge, Wi-Fi is free in the common areas and some guest rooms (ask ahead). The hotel is pet friendly.
