The most notable thing about Morgan Hotel is its location, on Bloomsbury itself, right around the corner from the British Museum.
Typical of most budget and midrange hotels in such in-demand locations, the hotel’s 22 rooms are on the small side. We saw some almost identical rooms most notable for their raspberry-driven duvet color scheme. Rooms at Morgan have all the basics covered: mirrors, hair dryers, safes, extensive wardrobe and shelving space, and bedside mini-cubicles and lamps. Rooms have chairs and little tables as well—a nice detail, though one that makes the rooms seem even smaller. Wi-Fi is free of charge. All rooms are en suite. We liked the simple bathrooms, with their marble-topped counters and round sinks.
Most of all, though, we love the location and the rates. The latter are higher than our London average, no question, but any survey of Bloomsbury hotels will reveal the degree to which Morgan is a relative bargain.
