Part of the Choice Hotels empire, the Quality Hotel Westminster provides 107 rooms in a 19th-century red-brick building, a five-minute walk from Victoria Station. Rates are higher than the usual Cheapo range, but if you're looking for the security of standardization and plenty of amenities, then this hotel is safe bet: you will get what you pay for.
The Westminster's moderately sized rooms nicely furnished and equipped with the usual three-star creature comforts: trouser press, minibar, etc. They boast a few extras, such as Sony Playstations and pay-per-view movies. If you find you require a little more legroom, up the ante and get a premium room, which has the same amenities but is slightly more spacious.
Rooms facing the street will offer views of the lovely Eccleston Square garden, which is just across the street. Request in advance for a view or for a nonsmoking room. The hotel has a brasserie-style restaurant that serves three meals a day and a small bar.
