New York Car Rentals

Renting a car in New York is very expensive. On top of this, there's the issue of extreme hassle. A few minutes in a taxi in Midtown at mid-day should cure you of any desire to drive in New York City. We seriously urge you not to rent a car during your stay in New York.

If you plan to take a road trip outside of New York, a car is a fine option, particularly as transportation outside of the city is subpar. If you choose to do this, we recommend arranging your car pick-up from one of the New York area's airports. We also recommend using priceline.com, which consolidates rates.

A very good rate for a three-day, economy car rental in New York City is $145.
