Sandra and her father, Ettore, run this friendly, 23-room establishment just near Santa Maria Formosa and not far from San Marco. Their tastes in decorative styles seem to have wavered bit ... clean and contemporary furnishings with the occasional funky paint job meet old-fashioned, exposed wood beams and classic creams. The final result, however, is airy and attractive.
Bunches of fresh lilies line the corridor, which leads to simple, cozy rooms, furnished in light wood and pastels, with tasteful black-and-white prints on the walls. Bathrooms are tiny, basic, and clean.
Breakfast is served in a sun-filled room adorned with modern art and flower-filled window boxes. (Clearly a seasonal touch—but they were still blooming in November!) |
