The five-story P.R. Residência Alicante is located a bit east of the Marquês de Pombal (walk-a-phobes, beware). But this place is spic-and-span—so tidy, in fact, that it smells clean.
Rooms, which branch of sparkling and well-lit hallways, are medium-sized and comfortable. The Alicante offers single rooms on up through rooms for four persons, though the latter would be more appropriate for families with young children than four adults.
There's little in the way of décor, but wood floors, fresh furniture, and pleasant bedding make rooms cheerful. All have nice closet space, a small writing desk, and air-conditioning. Bathrooms are clean and modern with fresh shower stalls and good lighting. Televisions are small.
All in all, the Alicante is a solid option. Whatever it may lack in personality is compensated for by just prices and steady service (not to mention an elevator).
