The Athens Acropol is located on the corner of one of the busiest streets in Athens, right beside Omonia Square and dozens of inexpensive restaurants, cafes, and retail shops. If you haven't been able to find just the right oil-burning lamp or brand-name knock-off perfume, then you just may find it atop the stairs as you exit the metro station.
The 167 rooms inside the Athens Acropol are modern and sophisticated. Warm colors blend seamlessly one into the other: fawn hardwood floors, contemporary cherry wood furniture, wine-colored bedspreads and seat cushions, and curtains the color of the sun.
The en suite bathrooms have slate grey marble walls and white marble floors that made us want to throw up a disco ball and dance.

About the Acropol neighborhood
The gritty transit and commercial hub of Omonia Square is not Athens at its most quaint and ancient. In architectural terms, Omonia is other than charming. But there are plenty of quirky, even inspiring aspects of the area around Omonia Square. For one, there are oodles of ethnic restaurants and immigrant retail shops, giving the area a bit of an international vibe. There's also the mindblowing Central Market, featuring stall upon stall of a dizzying range of goods. While Omonia is a convenient 'hood for cheap sleeps and international fare, keep in mind the area can get a bit sketchy at night.
