The elegant Bellevue House B&B keeps up its old world charm with love and attention…and doilies, candles, candy dishes, and one very large overhead angel fresco in the lobby. The ambiance here will help you forget how close you are to the busy Piazza Santa Maria Novella and the central station area. That said, the location is convenient.
Oh yes, Bellevue is the sort of place that will satisfy your fussy aunts. What was once a 17th-century convent, later the Palazzo Riblet, and then glamorous 20th-century apartments, is now home to six glorious guestrooms. These rooms go by the names Victoria, Carolina, Fiorenza, Ginevra, Sofia, and Marcella. They overlook a garden, Via della Scala, and a quiet courtyard.
Each of six rooms has her own personality, with décor ranging from newer, walnut furniture to stunning antiques in dark, polished wood. We love the plush bed covers and original flooring, as well as the old French hearths in the triple and quad rooms. Just for the record, these latter rooms are some of the largest and loveliest rooms we've ever seen for tripling up. Each room offers a refrigerator and air-conditioning too.
Bathrooms range in size and are outfitted in swank white and green tiles.
Breakfast is free of charge and served in a quaint room on the first floor.

About the Bellevue House B&B neighborhood
Across the street from the train station, the area around Piazza Santa Maria Novella is perhaps the most varied neighborhood in the city. The, dingier, urban streets leading to the station get a lot of traffic (both automobile and human) while the other side of the grassy Piazza is formed by narrow, serpentine little streets, characterful buildings, and top-notch shopping. The piazza itself is crowded with picnicking tourists and pick pockets preying on them. The 'hood is bordered by the river, the train station, shopping street Via Tornabuoni, this area suffers a bit of an identity crisis. One thing is for sure: once you're here, you're no more than ten minutes away from anything else.
