Kind and gentlemanly Signor Antonio runs the elegant Bellevue House B&B, keeping up its old world charm with love and attention
and doilies, candles, and candy dishes. Oh yes, Bellevue is the sort of place that will satisfy your fussy aunts.
What was once a 17th-century convent, later the Palazzo Riblet, and then glamorous 20th-century apartments, is now home to six glorious guestrooms. These rooms go by the names Victoria, Carolina, Fiorenza, Ginevra, Sofia, and Marcella. They overlook a garden, Via della Scala, and a quiet courtyard.
Each room has her own personality, with décor ranging from newer, walnut furniture inspired by the classics to stunning antiques in dark, polished wood. We love the plush bed covers and original flooring, as well as the old French hearths in the triple and quad rooms. Just for the record, these latter rooms are some of the largest and loveliest rooms we've ever seen for tripling up.
Bathrooms range in size along with the rooms they accompany, and are outfitted in swank white and green tiles.
The ambiance will help you forget quickly how close you are to the busy Piazza Santa Maria Novella and central station area. That said, the central location is very convenient.
