Cheap hotels near Soho in New York, United States
Soho is a vibrant, busy neighborhood located in Lower Manhattan west of Broadway. The area’s name is a shortening of “South of Houston (Street).” Soho is today known for its chic art galleries, lofts, upscale boutiques and trendy bars.
As you walk the funky side streets here, take a minute to look up at the buildings. Many still retain their original cast-iron facades. And you can still glimpse a smattering of Federal-style townhouses (circa 1800s) in the area. These features helped Soho achieve its place on the list of national registered historic places.
Note: Soho covers most of the area between West Broadway and Lafayette Street, and Canal Street to Houston Street. Transportation options abounds here.
