Hotel Prima Lepic is a charming hotel decorated in a light and airy neo-rustic style in a fabulous Montmartre location. At €125 - €145 for a double, this hotel is definitely a splurge, but there is good bang for your buck here.
Located right on the busy rue Lepic market street, you enter the hotel by a long corridor which boasts vintage tiling and white wrought iron garden benches. The rustic theme continues in the reception and lounge area, which are filled with over-sized vases planted with stalks of wheat-colored dry grass and roomy arm chairs upholstered in milky blue pastels. When we visited, a basket of complimentary fresh pastries filled the reception area with a delicious aroma. The walls are decorated with works of art by local artists, many of them for sale. The breakfast area has the same white wrought iron garden chairs along with marble top tables. It's not terribly authentic but it looks pretty.
Rooms are decorated to a high standard in the Laura Ashley style with floral bedspreads, matching curtains and richly patterned wallpaper. Some ceilings still boast their original plaster moldings and a couple of beds have drapes and canopies. Though it looks like a country inn, it hums with efficiency and professionalism. You'll never be able to forget that it's a hotel in the heart of Montmartre, just around the corner from scores of trendy bars and restaurants.
