Here is one really friendly place. Situated five minutes east of the railroad station, the Locanda Starlight offers five just-the-bare-essentials rooms at very low prices.
None have private facilities, there are no televisions or telephone in the rooms, and you'll have to find breakfast elsewhere. But the Starlight makes up for this in price, youthful hospitality, and artistic charm ... not to mention it's housed in a 12th-century building.
Rooms are named for the hand-painted murals that decorate their walls. Reghina, the Starlight's very friendly English-speaking manager, painted these themed scenes. You'll either be sleeping in the "Butterfly Room," the "Sun Room," the "Moon Room," the "Fish Room" (pictured), or "Cupid's Room." True to the Locanda's name, glow-in-the-dark stars decorate the ceilings.
