Locanda Starlight

Here is one really friendly place. Situated five minutes east of the railroad station, the Locanda Starlight offers five bare-essentials rooms at very low prices.

None have private facilities and there aren't any in-room televisions or telephones, but the Starlight makes up for this in price, youthful hospitality and artistic charm ... not to mention it's housed in a charming 12th-century building.

Rooms are named for the warm, hand-painted murals that decorate their walls. Reghina, the Starlight's very friendly English-speaking manager, painted these themed scenes. You'll either be sleeping in the “Butterfly Room,” “Sun Room,” “Moon Room,” the “Fish Room” (pictured), or Cupid's Room. True to the Locanda's name, glow-in-the-dark stars decorate the ceilings.

The hostel also offers a communal kitchen and free Internet.
