The Cartref House—formerly the James & Cartref House—is a cheerful, family-run bed-and-breakfast about a five-minute walk west of Victoria Station and a 10-minute walk south of Buckingham Palace.

The Cartref has a variety of homey rooms, from singles on up to family-style rooms that would suit parents with small children. Décor in each of the 10 rooms is simple and cheerful, with floral patterned bedspreads and matching curtains. Amenities are the usual, no-frills B&B affairs: tea kettles and small televisions. All rooms have private bathrooms.

In the morning, you can choose between a full English or continental breakfast. Guests get their own key to the front door. The Cartref House is entirely nonsmoking.
