If you're looking for a friendly, reliable two-star hotel set in the heart of the Latin Quarter, you've found it. We're not exaggerating about the location—this 65-room hotel is literally steps to the Place Saint-Michel and is situated in the pedestrian-friendly (and Greek restaurant-lined) Latin Quarter.
The Hôtel Europe Saint Séverin is almost always full, no surprise considering its authentic old Parisian style of rough stone walls, exposed wooden beams and simple but elegant furnishings. New carpet, bedspreads and curtains—as well as a Jacuzzi suite—were added in 2006.
Three rooms on every floor face a quiet courtyard. We preferred those facing the action, although they will be noisier at night. Two floors boast rooms with private balconies (ask ahead). The triples and suites may be much pricier, but are still well below the standard price for rooms this size in central Paris.
