The three-star Hôtel Favart is an art-lovers palace. Just a short walk from the Opéra and across the street from the Opéra Comique, guests can't possibly complain of a lack of things to do.
Inside, the artistic touch is everywhere. Behind the front desk a giant fresco of Paris fills the wall, and another one leads guests up the stairs. In the dining area, multicolored flowers are arranged on every table and tasteful sculptures and artwork are commonplace.
The aesthetic is wonderful, and why wouldn't it be? In 1824 Spanish painter Francisco Goya lived in this very building, and the 37 rooms bespeak his presence.
Rooms are large with proportionately large windows. Impressive realist tableaux bless freshly painted walls above beds, and ornate light fixtures hang from wood-beamed ceilings. Antique furniture can be found throughout the hotel and is a staple in rooms. Immaculately clean, bathrooms sport wall-to-wall mirrors, creating a fun-house effect.
Twenty rooms look out onto the tranquil place Boieldieu and offer views of the Favart's nextdoor neighbor, the Opéra Comique. The exterior of the hotel has an original, Spanish-inspired exterior that is hard to miss.
