Antica Dimora is the crush to end all crushes. We swooned over every square inch of this Bed & Breakfast! As part of the Johanna Vitta four-hotel empire (see also B&B Johanna), Antica Dimora has a charming, boutique feel. It's somewhat akin to a fantasy Paris apartment, with fresh flowers, soft light, and six delightful rooms. All this is packed into a branch of the Palazzo Pandolfini, perched on a quiet street. We'll be frank—we were ready to move in!
An adorable staff member greeted us, parting the curtains in the breakfast room/ lounge as afternoon light streamed in, tossing sunshine on a vase of plump, red roses. We felt woozy.
We tried to maintain some composure as she showed us a few rooms, each more delicious than the last, with four-poster beds, fine silk curtains, plush bedding, and tasteful detailing and artwork. Antica Dimroa maintains a rustic feel, though every room is complete with telephone, minibar, satellite, television, and safe deposit box, we felt more old world glamour than 21st century technology.
Bathrooms are divine, with Carrara marble or oil-painted walls, and original antique appliances in fine porcelain with intricate detailing. The miniature balconies off of some of the rooms, with their views of the surrounding domes and rooftops, left our mouths gaping, before we dragged our feet towards the exit.
